The pygmy right whale, Caperea marginata is found only in the southern hemisphere. It is a small whale, growing to around 18 feet and it is one of the least known cetaceans. Gray in color, they can rarely be seen in groups of up to eight, but it is more usual to see them alone or in pairs, or with pods of dolphin. They are the smallest of the baleen whales and feed mosty on various copepods.
